Financial Assistance For Winter Heating Bills

Palatine Township serves as an intake site for two programs that may assist low-income residents facing high heating bills:

The Illinois Low Income Home Energy Assistance program (LIHEAP) provides qualified residents with a one-time credit toward gas and electric bills.  This program is administered through CEDA - Community Economic Development Association.

The Nicor Gas Sharing Program provides grants once per year to qualifying residential customers.  This program is administered by the Salvation Army and is funded through direct contributions from Nicor Gas customers and employees.

LIHEAP PROGRAM

This program will start up September 1, 2009, for the 2010 season.  You will find below the Income Guidelines which will be used for this program for the 2010 season.
