Contact me at:  skern@palatinetownship.com

Personal Message: It is an honor to be appointed recently to fulfill a Trustee vacancy.  My goal as Trustee, is to work with the Board to insure high quality services for all residents of the Township while conserving taxpayer funds.

25 years ago I moved to Inverness, in Palatine Township, to practice medicine at Northwest Community Hospital and raise my daughter and son who attended District 15 and 211 schools.  Over the years, I served as President of the Hospital physicians, on the Hospital Board of Directors, in Medical Society leadership, and volunteer for medical missions.  Have been active in the community in Rotary, serve on the State Board of the League of Women Voters, as well as an election judge, voter registrar and more.  For over a decade I served on active duty with the US Army Medical Corps.   I look forward to serving the community and welcome your calls!

Job Description:  The four Trustees have authority and responsibility when acting with the Supervisor as the five member Township Board.  The Board is the legislative arm of the Township setting policies, practices, and procedures for the Township Supervisor to administer.  Board responsibilities include auditing Township bills, attending to annual budgeting and levy responsibilities, spending Township funds, compensating Township officers, appointing the fire protection district trustees and many other functions.
