Fundraiser Supports Food Pantry

The Palatine Township Food Pantry and PATH each recently received a check for $5,060.  The funds were raised by students at Walter R Sundling Jr High during their 10th annual "When Pigs Fly" event.  This event is done in honor of Carolyn Baider, a teacher whose motto was "I will give up on students when pigs fly."  Although Carolyn passed away several years ago, the teachers, students, PTA, families and administration at Sundling still carry this belief close to their heart.

In addition to monetary donations students and staff also collected non-perishable food items that were donated to the Food Pantry and PATH.  Pictured left to right first row are teacher Katie Winer, Principal Jason Dietz, Palatine Township Clerk Lisa Moran, PATH representative Ramona Tyack and second row Mayor Jim Schwantz, teacher Paul Klimas.
