TERRY KELLY - Palatine Township Assessor

Contact me at:  tkelly@palatinetownship.com

Personal Message:  Hello.  My name is Terry Kelly and I am proud to be your Palatine Township Assessor.  A little bit about me.  I have been involved in Township Government since early childhood as my father, Gene Kelly, was Township Attorney for a number of years.  I "attended" many meeting at an early age.  I have lived in Palatine my whole life.  I am married and have two children.  Throughout the years I have been an assistant coach in Palatine Youth Baseball and have taken leadership roles in my local Boy Scout Troop.  I am an active member of the Palatine Lions Club, as well as a member of the Palatine Historical Society.  I currently am a Marquette Basketball season ticket holder, go Golden Eagles!  Also, throughout the years I have attended, at last count, more than 25 concerts by Jethro Tull.

As Palatine Township Assessor I have a CIAO (Certified Illinois Assessor) designation.  I have taken over 150 hours of continuing education.  The Palatine Township Assessor's Office works hard to reduce your property taxes.  My staff and I always try and find a way to help you reduce your taxes.

I addition to my Assessor duties I am proud to be chairman of the Township Cemetery Committee.  Over the years my committee has overseen the restoration of Palatine's historic pioneer cemeteries.

Job Description:  The Township Assessor and his/her personnel assist township citizens in understanding their rights and responsibilities related to the assessed valuation of their property.  Additionally, they assist in appealing their assessment when requested by the property owner.  The Assessor has one direct report, the Deputy Assessor.
