Palatine Township working together with the Palatine Lions Club is pleased to offer residents an opportunity to properly dispose of their unwanted electronic items on Saturday, May 19, 2012 from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The event will take place in the Palatine Township parking lot located at 721 S. Quentin Road, Palatine. No appointment is necessary and there is no limit to recycled items. Click here for more information.
The Township is committed to taking care of our planet and is happy to offer this free event to residents since a new law went into effect on January 1, 2012 that bans certain electronic items from being sent to a landfill.
The Township offered a similar recycling event in October. Residents enthusiastically supported this event bringing electronic items they no longer wanted such as computers, monitors, TVs and batteries to the Township parking lot where volunteers loaded the items for disposal into semi-trailers.

THe Cook County Highway Department has begun improvements on Quentin Road from Illinois Avenue to Northwest Highway. The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2012. Please see below for details. Check here for any updates on the construction.

Township's Blue Star Banner Program: supporting military families

The Township launched a Blue Star Banner Program in order to honor military families in the community by presenting them with a Blue Star Service Banner to display in their window. The authorized recipient (military family member) is invited to attend a Township Board Meeting where they are presented with the Blue Star Banner along with a special Resolution in their honor and beneficial support information.
At these Board Meetings those in attendance watch a video showing the history of the Blue Star Banner. Each family is then presented with a banner by their mayor or city/village representative and a special Township Resolution presented by Town Clerk Lisa Moran.
